Er, we can’t quite explain WTF is going on here, but uh, apparently we should be getting ready for a new animated series from Macboy William Levin, creator of the infamous Steve Ballmer iPod ad, entitled Corky The Kosher Clown. You can watch the exceptionally creepy and disturbed trailer for the series here.

Dozens of aspiring bachurim from Livingston, NJ’s Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy were arrested for underage drinking and drug posession this past weekend, when a student’s house party was raided by the local fuzz.
Guys — it’s called “make a run for the back door.” I dunno, hop a fence? Hide behind a bush? Sheesh. They can teach you gemara, but apparently not common sense.

According to Strap-On Veterans For Truth,
The person known today as Ann Coulter was born Jeremy Levinsohn in the village in New York in 1960. His parents were typical latte-drinking liberals, religiously conservative, but socially and politically radical. His father taught Russian Literature at CUNY and his mother was a social worker. His childhood friend Rodger Mihalot described him, “The Levinsohns were nice people, but his father was distant, so Jeremy seemed to seek a strong male figure in his life. Although they were Jewish, he often hung out at our church, and really seemed to spend a lot of time with Fr. Donatella Nowunn. I also think he was really looking to rebel against his overly liberal parents. Otherwise he was a typical kid, he liked to play cowboy, sailor and gladiator a lot. His favorite movie was always The Sheik, he really seemed to have a fascination with Arabs, I don’t know why.”[...]
As Pudenda Shenanigans, she was well known on the drag circuit in Key West. Whether she actually had a full sex change or not is a matter of debate, although her adam’s apple is still visible in photos, under the appropriate light. We who laughed, cried, worked and danced with her feel her story should be told. We are not out to punish her, but feel it’s time she owned up to what she really is.
Speaking of queens, I got dragged to this horrendously awful drag club in Tel Aviv the other night, called Diva, under the impression that I’d get a “real” Israeli experience. Some such nonesense about seeing the furthest extremes. Turned out to be no more than a bachelorette club and my the “entertainment” was ghastly. I suppose it was funny to hear jokes about the sexual habits of Ashkenazim, Sephardim, Russians and foreign workers, the, ahem, ‘divas’ taking pot shots at the different segments of Israeli society represented in the audience that evening. Or I guess it would have been could I formulate a full sentence in Hebrew. Anyway, here are a few blurry photos from the experience.

Gothamist reports,
A small debate over at the Yada Yada Yada blog has started over brand t-shirts. Not just any t-shirts, but t-shirts featuring the logos of Manischewitz and Streit’s. Is this the new Coke vs. Pepsi? McDonald’s vs. Burger King? Gothamist is imagining loyalists of both brands making matzoh balls and throwing them at each other in an all out matzoh war.Are matzoh eaters fiercely loyal to their brands. with the shirts a way of expressing that or are the shirts a mere fashion statement? Is there a noticeable difference between the taste of Manischewitz matzoh and Streit’s matzoh? If you’re loyal to the Cincinnati based Manischewitz, you can buy your shirt here and if you like the Lower East Side’s Streit’s, you can buy your shirt here. All with plenty of time until Passover.
You’d think people would have better things to argue about. Oh wait, I forgot. We’re Jews.

Okay, Thanksgiving is here in just a few days. It’s time for the annual communion with the New Jersey turnpike as I head south to see family. But I’ve got some interesting presents in the ol’ stash bag:
For the kids, and for the eclectic folks, there is a wonderful compilation of (mostly) Washington, DC musicians, doing everything from kiddy-sing to hip hop to honky tonk called “A Chanukah Feast”
For those who want something a bit edgier, my favorite Latino-Jewish hip hop band, the Hip Hop Hoodíos have promised a Hanukah-timed limited release of their new album, “Agua pa’ la gente”. I’ve heard some tracks recorded since their initial EP, and if included here, this is going to be a smokin’ disk. The CD even comes with a money-back guarantee For those, like me, who would rather not wait until March for the official release, you can order the album now and they say that it will arrive in time for the holidays. (Use special “HHH” promo code for the special $11.98 discount price – a discount and it arrives in time for Hanukah!)
Finally, Lorin Sklamberg, of the Klezmatics, has announced a limited edition of the new ‘matics Woody Guthrie Hanukah material: The Klezmatics: Woody Guthrie’s Happy Joyous Hanuka (Klezmatics Records, 2004)
In 1942, Woody Guthrie moved to Brooklyn and soon, through his mother-in-law, the renowned Yiddish poet Aliza Greenblat, he became involved with the Coney Island Jewish community. He wrote songs about Hanuka, about Jewish history and spiritual life and about World War II and the antifascist cause. After his death in 1967, these songs sat forgotten in archives. Lost for almost thirty years, Guthrie’s Jewish lyrics were discovered in 1998 by Woody’s daughter, Nora Guthrie. She was so inspired by what she found, she asked the Klezmatics to write new music for the lyrics. “Woody Guthrie’s Happy Joyous Hanuka” is the first recorded release of this amazing material. Deftly intermingling klezmer with American folk and bluegrass, “Woody Guthrie’s Happy Joyous Hunaka” is destined to become a holiday classic for generations to come. This delightful collection of songs, “Hanuka’s Flame”, “Hanuka Gelt”, “The Many and the Few” and others, is among the best of Guthrie’s work, and the Klezmatics’ playful renditions cast a new light on the Hanuka tradition.
This limited edition collectors release comes in a jacket, hand printed at the Chicago Print Museum, that folds into a dreidel! Available only via the internet.
May as well order these now and avoid the rush on Friday after Thanksgiving. Enjoy.

Outgoing US Secretary of State Colin Powell was asked to step down after telling President George W. Bush he wanted more power to confront Israel over the peace process, according to London’s Sunday Telegraph.[...]
“The clincher came over the Mideast peace process,” a recently-retired State Department official reportedly said. “Powell thought he could use the credit he had banked as the president’s ‘good cop’ in foreign policy to rein in [Prime Minister] Ariel Sharon and get the peace process going. He was wrong.”

This just hit my inbox:
Dear Friend,This mail may not be surprising to you if you have been following current events in the international media with reference to the Middle East and Palestine in particular.
I am Mrs. SUHA ARAFAT, the wife of YASSER ARAFAT, the Palestinian leader who died recently in Paris. Since his death and even prior to the announcement, I have been thrown into a state of antagonism, confusion, humiliation, frustration and hopelessness by the present leadership of the Palestinian Liberation Organization and the new Prime Minister. I have even been subjected to physical and psychological torture. As a widow that is so traumatized, I have lost confidence with everybody in the country at the moment.
You must have heard over the media reports and the Internet on the discovery of some fund in my husband secret bank account and companies and the allegations of some huge sums of money deposited by my husband in my name of which I have refuses to disclose or give up to the corrupt Palestine Government. In fact the total sum allegedly discovered by the Government so far is in the tune of about $6.5 Billion Dollars. And they are not relenting on their effort to make me poor for life. As you know, the Moslem community has no regards for woman, hence my desire for a foreign assistance.
I have deposited the sum of 20 million dollars with a security firm abroad whose name is withheld for now until we open communication. I shall be grateful if you could receive this fund into your bank account for safe keeping and any Investment opportunity. This arrangement is known to you and my personal Attorney. He might be dealing with you directly for security reasons as the case may be.
In view of the above, if you are willing to assist for our mutual benefits, we will have to negotiate on your Percentage share of the $20,000,000 that will be kept in your position for a while and invested in your name for my trust pending when my Daughter, Zahwa, will come off age and take full responsibility of her Family Estate/inheritance.
Please note that this is a golden opportunity that comes once in life time and more so, if you are hornet, I am going to entrust more funds in your care as this is one of the legacy we keep for our children.
In case you don’t accept please do not let me out to the security and international media as I am giving you this information in total trust and confidence I will greatly appreciate if you accept my proposal in good faith. Please expedite action.
Yours sincerely,
Suha Arafat

What if 1% of the proceeds from certain food manufacturers were donated to alleviate/prevent world hunger?
Read the story of Hallel and Aliza Abramowitz-Silverman, daughters of Yosef and Rabbi Susan Silverman (of Jewish Family and Life Network and socialaction.com fame):
As young children they observed that certain food items seemed to be more desirable because food manufacturers (in this case Paul Newman and his spaghetti sauce) were committed to donating proceeds from the sale of the product. They also noticed that the small kosher symbol found on many food products provides a meaningful way to identify kosher products. With youthful creativity, they proposed that all foods carry a symbol indicating that the manufacturer donates proceeds to feed hungry people.
No monetary donation necessary; just your pledge to buy products with this “world manna” symbol.

The JTA reports,
Shoshana Cardin dismayed some members of the audience — and delighted others — with her prepared remarks on the challenges the Jewish community faces under the Bush administration.“There is a contradiction between our agenda and the Republican sweep,” said Cardin, a past president of the federation system and of JTA. “The struggle to adapt to an agenda that is as Christian” as the Republican agenda, she said, “is our struggle.”
She also said Bush’s comments in his first news conference after re-election, when he pledged to “reach out to all who share my goals,” were troubling.
“That doesn’t exactly include me,” Cardin said in her remarks Monday. “To reach out means to all, not only to those who share his goals.”
Cardin’s speech was one of two clear ripples the presidential election sent through the United Jewish Communities’ General Assembly, held Nov. 14-17 in Cleveland.
The second controversy, over whether to send President Bush a letter congratulating him on his election victory, was further proof that the Jewish community hasn’t completely come together in support of the administration a few weeks after a bitterly divisive election.

I pick subject matter where you have to look at it from many angles,” says Sahihi. “I find beauty in this.”
