  4. The Pesach Coca-Cola seriously tastes much better than the year-round! Wouldn’t you pay an extra one or two cents more for it?

  5. I’m Sefard but I’ll be buying my year’s supply. A question: How can wine be Kosher for Passover? How is leavening not ok, but fermentation is? Isn’t it the same process?

The issue on Pesach is all about what’s being fermented. For example potato vodka (if you dare handle it) can be kosher for Pesach b/c potatoes are not one of the grains. Beer or scotch on the other hand is made from wheat, barley, etc. whose fermented products are barred for Passover.

(I really like those yellow Coke caps BTW.)

that’s like asking the difference between sex with a sibling and a partner. isn’t it the same process? how could be possibly be OK?

  8. It’s the same process–but it’s the underlying substance that counts. According to the Torah sex with a sibling is prohibited, sex with a permitted partner is permitted. Same act, different context.

And wheat, etc. is permitted on Pesach, so long as it’s not fermented. So it’s basically the fermentation of specific items that’s a Pesach no-go.

  10. Sarah,

you can try to ebay to us all you want, but the yids in the know in the five boroughs can get HFCS free soda all year round at any self respecting mexican restaurant. Mmm, sing to me, glass bottle mexican pepsi.
