Abu Obama?

Well, we may be taking this a bit too far with the names thing, but you gotta give the guy credit. He made time to sit down with the Palestinian President, next to a Palestinian flag, during his single day in the region. Somehow, McCain never quite made it across the green line during his last trip…

  1. This might look like progress on this blog, but don’t you think this just serves as ammo for the Baracknophobes? I mean, if there was aver a Dukakis-in-a-tank moment…

  2. I dont think comparing Obama’s meeting with Abbas to Dukakis’ tank fiasco bares any proximity to reality. Firstly, Obama looks at home doing it, unlike Dukakis in a tank. And second, if there is any day to meet with the Palestinians, its the same you lay a wreath at Yad Vashem and give a speech in Sderot.

Was it risky? You bet. Did it show his integrity? Without a doubt.

"I may attack a certain point of view which I consider false, but I will never attack a person who preaches it. I have always a high regard for the individual who is honest and moral, even when I am not in agreement with him. Such a relation is in accord with the concept of kavod habriyot, for beloved is man for he is created in the image of God." —Rav Joseph Soloveitchik
