I think you are confused about things. The goal is to expose Israel’s racism and hypocrisy. Any benefits to African refugees are incidental.
And lest you think I’m being satirical, no. I care more about addressing Israeli racism than the welfare of any individual African asylum seeker. Because unlike some, I’m more invested in transforming Israel more than in bleeding heart liberalism. I’m Israeli after all.

Instead of kvetching (or in addition to kvetching), why don’t some of your American Jewish progressive groups sponsor the Africans and help them come to the US. I’m sure they would rather be in the US than in Israel, and I suspect more Americans and Israelis would want them in the US too.

JG, I find the “love of Israel” language is genuine, partly because it’s a red line to say otherwise and partly because a low-level genuine love of Israel doesn’t seem to motivate these lovers to delve into anything that might challenge their positive feelings. All too human, I can’t claim innocence in my own life to things I know are probably screwed up but would rather just enjoy. (Hamburgers, anyone?)
