Jewschool sponsors Other Israel Film Festival 2015

Jewschool is proud to once again sponsor the best of Israeli documentary films showing at the Other Israel Film Festival, the largest festival devoted to the history, culture, and identity on the topic of minority populations in Israel.
This year, we’re highlighting two groundbreaking films, Censored Voices and Oriented. Check out our advance reviews of Censored Voices by Aliza Becker and Aryeh Cohen, and of Oriented by David Levy. But don’t forget to check out the full schedule of over fifteen films. And if you attend a film and want to write a review, we invite you to submit it to us here.

Censored Voices
Censored Voices
Censored Voices (2015, 84 minutes, documentary) features until-now classified archival footage of Israeli soldiers discussing the 1967 Six Day War days after its completion. Led by nenowned Israeli author Amos Oz, the intimate conversations reveal soldiers wrestling with the systemic evacuation of Palestinians, the dehumanizing nature of war, and the echoes of the Holocaust, taking an honest look at the moment Israel turned occupier.
