Hey you dummies in charge of the Jewish Organizations who still think that Iran shouldn’t be a jewish issue, despite the fact that Ahmadinejad himself made it one. Does THIS change your minds?
The National Post reports,
Human rights groups are raising alarms over a new law passed by the Iranian parliament that would require the country’s Jews and Christians to wear coloured badges to identify them and other religious minorities as non-Muslims.
“This is reminiscent of the Holocaust,” said Rabbi Marvin Hier, the dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles. “Iran is moving closer and closer to the ideology of the Nazis.”
Iranian expatriates living in Canada yesterday confirmed reports that the Iranian parliament, called the Islamic Majlis, passed a law this week setting a dress code for all Iranians, requiring them to wear almost identical “standard Islamic garments.”
The law, which must still be approved by Iran’s “Supreme Guide” Ali Khamenehi before being put into effect, also establishes special insignia to be worn by non-Muslims.
Iran’s roughly 25,000 Jews would have to sew a yellow strip of cloth on the front of their clothes, while Christians would wear red badges and Zoroastrians would be forced to wear blue cloth.
How some can continue to make Naziesque analogies to the Israeli government while not making a peep about this is beyond civilized comprehension. Never again, my butt.
[Update] This appears to be a hoax.

Orthodox State Assemblyman Ryan Karben of Monsey has abruptly resigned his second term post admid sketchy allegations that he made unwanted sexual advances on male interns. There have been other stories over the years but this is apparantly the end of the line for Karben who many thought would run for higher office. Karben first entered public office while enrolled as a student at Yeshiva University and then elected to the Rockland county legislature in 1997. Stories in recent years implied certain improprieties and even residencies in two voting districts but details were often vague. Steven I. is labeling Karben as a “Smaller, Jewy-er, Harassment-er McGreevey”

This is unbeleivable. Just when you thought the feces excreted from the rumps of the conservative media couldn’t smell any worse, we have this latest little duzy published by WND. Why is this trash even acceptable and publishable?
[Bush] lied when he said: “Massive deportation of the people here is unrealistic – it’s just not going to work.”
Not only will it work, but one can easily estimate how long it would take. If it took the Germans less than four years to rid themselves of 6 million Jews, many of whom spoke German and were fully integrated into German society, it couldn’t possibly take more than eight years to deport 12 million illegal aliens, many of whom don’t speak English and are not integrated into American society.
Conservative commentator Vox Day (a Southern Baptist and Mensa Genius) abuses Adolf Hitler’s horrific mistreatment of Jews and insults the victims and survivors of those atrocities by suggesting those methods as a viable way to deal with America’s Latino “problem”.
Sick sick sick.

Fox News’ John Gibson is an idiot. There’s just no other way to describe the low life. He has taken the credibility of his network and his trade to a new all time low, asserting that Americans, who are members of the Democratic party are worse than Iranian President, Ahmadinejad. I am offended, and such a stretched comparison is akin to invoking Hitler and Nazi refrences to further the rhetoric of an empty point to gain political agenda mileage. Does Gibson or Fox news expect any semi intelligent American – Democrat republican or otherwise to actually take this seriously and assume they intend to be taken seriously?
UPDATE: It seems that deplorable and asinine comparisons were on the list of talking points for the conservative talk radio hosts. Self righteous drug addict Rush Limbaugh took the Ahmadinejad letter one step further and dared to claim that the Iranian nutjob’s letter reads like the talking points of “Liberal Jewish People.” Now hows that for offensive?

In order accomodate Jewish astronauts, NASA is tackling those tough jewish space related questions, like when exactly is the right time to daven mincha on a space station, when to keep the sabbath on the space station and of course, which direction to face while praying. Rabbi Leonard Nemoy has suggested kashering the food replicator.

If I may, I would like to follow up on an idea expressed earlier by David Kelsey about Yom Hashoa.
We are an ancient civilization. We remain a vibrant one in some sectors, but we are risking our identity by insisting on a death camp culture, or a reaction to our death camp culture. Liberal and secular youth with nominal Jewish identities and education are not at risk at forgetting the Holocaust.
True, they are not at risk at forgetting, but they most definitely are at risk of not telling their children. The challenge of “holocaustism” is not necessarily wearing it on the sleeve as some modern jewish activists do, (akin to invoking the recently abolished slavery in by some black communal leaders) but imparting that firsthand knowlege over to their children and grandchildren. The idea is to be able to spawn future generations that will be equally unable to forget.
I’d like to offer this video perspective on the concept of a “Holocaust Remembrance Day” presented by one of the most brilliant Jewish leaders of our time. Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau, who is also well respected (by both religious and non-religious) expresses the significance of consistent remembering – and why holocaust education is so important. A basic working knowlege of modern hebrew is required, and you must watch the entire clip to understand. The man has an incredible way of driving home his point.

Rabbi Moses Teitelbaum, the “Satmar Rebbe” leader of the Satmar Hasidic Sect since 1980, has passed away in New York City at the age of 91
Teitelbaum was born in Siget, in present-day Romania. He escaped Nazi persecution during World War II and came to the United States in 1946. Teitelbaum took over leadership of the Satmar sect from his uncle, Rabbi Joel Teitelbaum, who died childless in 1979 at age 93. He took the formal title of rebbe the following year.
The question of who will succeed the rebbe as spiritual leader looms high. Two of his sons, Aaron and Zalmen Teitelbaum, have been feuding over that question.

The Family of American born Israeli MIA Zachary Baumel who was captured by Syrian forces in 1982 has filed a lawsuit in the against the Syrian government including Syrian President Bashar Assad for abduction and illegal imprisonment. The lawsuit was filed in Washington, DC Federal District Court under a provision in the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act which allows foreign states designated by the United States as state sponsors of terrorism to be sued in US courts for harm caused to American citizens by those countries. The provisions of the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act have been used successfully to reach Iranian assets in terror cases. This is the first time that the Syrian government is being sued under this statute, seeking a judgment against Syria, which would be collectable against its assets in the US.
“Over the years, a wealth of information has accrued that the Syrian Government is directly responsible in this case,” said Yona Baumel, Zack’s father. “Our aim is not to obtain a financial judgment, but to get access to the MIAs. By hitting the Syrians where it hurts, in their pocketbooks, we hope to obtain positive results where all other methods have failed.”
In March 2005, Baumel told WND that sources he had cultivated in Syria told him they visited his son that year at a Syrian military installation just north of the border with Iraq. Baumel was also given a book from a confidante of a family in Syria that has coded messages he says could have been written only by his son.
Baumel showed WND pages from the book, a 1999 novel titled “The Map of Love.” The lettering has been stained after extensive Israeli forensics testing, but a series of marks are visible under the letters “BAZMUTACUMKCEL” – ZACK BAUMEL MTUC.
The MTUC, Yona explained, came from an old family joke that outsiders would not be in a position to know.
“It had to have been written by Zack,” said Baumel. “It refers to an old joke he was told from a long time ago when his mother, whose maiden name was Miriam Turetsky or MT, was a kid. The other children would point at her head and say ‘it’s empty you see,’ or MTUC.”
Additionally, phrases throughout the book were underlined or circled, including “A child forsaken,” “I have hope” and “help me.”

What tangeled web they weave. Illegal Lebanese Hizbullah in the United States by way of Mexico, supplementing their income with sale of contraband including fake Viagra.
This is not the only sign, however, of Hizbullah’s operation inside the U.S. On Thursday, 19 people were indicted of extortion, money laundering, thefts and illegal trade aimed at collecting money for Hizbullah.
The money was collected by selling fake Viagra, originating in China and central Europe, and cigarettes smuggled from U.S. which have no purchase tax on cigarettes to Michigan, where there is purchase tax, in order to win the difference.
Screw immigration PC, perhaps we do need that southern border wall. Full Story

You forgot Germany. It seems that Poland would like to officially change the U.N. world heritage directory listing for Auschwitz so that people understand it was run by the Nazis from Germany and not by Poland, its geographical host.
The government requested that UNESCO, the U.N.’s educational and cultural body, change the name from “Auschwitz Concentration Camp” to “Former Nazi German Concentration Camp Auschwitz-Birkenau,” Culture Ministry spokesman Jan Kasprzyk said.
Polish officials have complained in the past that foreign media sometimes refer to Auschwitz — a death camp located in occupied Poland where Nazi Germans killed 1.5 million people during World War II — as a “Polish concentration camp.”
That phrasing deeply offends sensitivities in Poland, which was subjected to a brutal occupation by Adolf Hitler’s Nazi forces.”

“I can’t imagine public service without faith. I don’t know how anyone could serve, absent that enormous strength.”
A) Abraham Lincoln
B) Peter Parker
C) Katherine Harris
D) Marc Gellman
E) Kirk Kameron
So, are we conclude that all good Americans who might be unaffiliated, indifferent, or even atheist or agnostic, are incapable of engaging in public service and that only those with so-called “faith” on their sleeve have the strength to do so? Words of wonder from the one who claims candidacy is the will of God, though that will cost ten million dollars.

Nothing like recovering from another week of lost blogs and missings links like another Gay scandal for Yeshiva University, sure to be blown out of proportion by the anti YU camps on the right and left, but it is a story on its own merits. So what’s the story this time? It seems that a former student at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, 29 year old Jeevan Padiyar, is suing the school for wrongful expulsion. Mr. Padyar asserts faculty homophobia as evidenced in a memo he uncovered which the school’s defense lawyers call troubling.
The document, written to Professor Marshall Horwitz, warns him to keep his distance from Mr Padiyar, and states that the school Dean “continues to remain concerned about your support of an openly gay student.”
I assume that would refer to the outgoing dean (Purpura) and not the newly appointed (Siegel). So what makes this story such a big deal? See this press release from a new group of yeshiva students – meaning students of YU schools – suing Yeshiva U. for harrasment. The group has broad support from notables such as Rabbi Shlomo Nisanov, president of Vaad Harabbanim of Queens, former NYC Public Advocate, Mark Green, Assemblywoman Bettie Mayersohn and others. According to the release they say the story goes a little like this:
Padiyar (PAD-eee-yar), 29, a Howard Hughes fellow, Phi Beta Kappa and Tau Beta Pi, was recently dismissed from Albert Einstein/Yeshiva. Padiyar’s difficulties there began in 2003 when he was assigned an anti-gay roommate. To resolve the issue, Padiyar was forced to come out as gay to his advisor and Yeshiva officials. Initially, the school’s housing office refused to grant a roommate change, until Padiyar considered serious complaints against the college. Soon, Padiyar became the victim of what he claims was systematic harassment on the part of several previously-friendly academic advisors. He was suspended in May 2004, but continued to draw a salary and live in student housing for a year and a half until he retained counsel and forced Albert Einstein to grant him a hearing.
Says Rabbi Nisanov:
Rabbi Shlomo Nisanov, President of VAAD Rabbanim of Queens, speaking in regard to the group of students pursuing cases against AECOM: Discrimination against anyone—Jew or non-Jew—should not be tolerated. Einstein’s behavior is at odds with the memory of everyone who perished during the Holocaust.
The group has a detailed website, which also solicits other “victims of yeshiva” to step up: www.yeshivavictims.org
Other Curious Points To Ponder:
Why is Rabbi Nisanov so involved? What is his possible connection to the cause in the first place?
Mark Green is obviously playing politics and using YU as a way to score points with the LBGT community. Mr. Green is running for attorney general against Andrew Cuomo who already has the endorsement of the city’s most prominent homosexual, assembly City Council speaker Christine Quinn.

Screw those guys, he’s going home. Isaac Hayes, the soul singer who plays the popular tell-it-like-it-is character on Comedy Central’s South Park known simply as “Chef” has decided to quit the show over its offensiveness to religion. Ironically, the straw the broke the camels back was a poke at scientology freak Tom Cruise. Nevermind that the base of South Park’s humor from day one pilots and cartoon shorts were about Jesus, and Kyle the Jew.
“Religious beliefs are sacred to people, and at all times should be respected and honored,” he continued. “As a civil rights activist of the past 40 years, I cannot support a show that disrespects those beliefs and practices.”
“South Park” co-creator Matt Stone responded sharply in an interview with The Associated Press Monday, saying, “This is 100 percent having to do with his faith of Scientology… He has no problem – and he’s cashed plenty of checks – with our show making fun of Christians.”
