Kickin’ it Jew School … A Bit More Literally

“Education in Jewish day schools is enjoying a boom across Long Island. More than 7,500 students attend these private schools — a 50 percent jump in enrollments in 10 years.”

Thing aren’t looking so prosperous out on the West Coast, however. The only Jewish high school in Silicon Valley just lost its bid to renew its property lease to a secular prep school that already has two campuses. Kehillah Jewish High School, as well as the Yavneh Day School it hosts in its facilities, now have little more than a year to find a new home.

In other related, and incredibly bizarre news, “In an unusual instance of Muslim-Jewish cooperation, a synagogue in the Philadelphia area is serving as a home for a local Muslim private school.”
