“Chosid” Charged With Bribery
A Williamsburg “chosid” was “charged with bribery after he tried to buy his way out of a traffic ticket on New Year’s Day.” Very righteous and noble behavior, indeed. (also c/o Hershel)

The man may have brokne the law, but halakhically speaking, there is no prohibition against the GIVING of bribery, only of the acceptance of such.
that’s pathetic .. it’s also a halakha to obey the law of the land in which you reside
at the same time, doing one, then a second thing wrong doesn’t take away from any things you may do right.
not true. if, for example, you break shabbos by handling money, but only to give it as charity to a homeless person or something, the mitzvah doesn’t count, but the aveyrah does.
however, if you are a chossid, and do mitzvos, and offer to bribe someone on your way home from work, the bribe doesnt ‘nullify’ the mitzvos. im just commenting on the quotes around the word chassid. true, what he did was VERY wrong, it doesnt make him wrong in everything.
