…i was thinking this while reading the article..is iraq really the biggest threat. they seem to be the only country in the axis of evil without nukes.
this is funny, zelikow is a prof. at my school… I have stayed away from his cold war class because I knew how conservative he was, but maybe I’ll take it next semester anyway..

Schneider is right on the money. Leading up to the Iraq drama, the Israeli security establishment and press were all about the Iranian nuclear threat. The Iraq war was all about the Bush administration Iran-Contra comeback crew’s unfinished business regarding Saddam Hussein. Not that there’s anything fundamentally wrong with taking down genuinely murderous fascist regimes….
So why should Zelikow throw Israel to the public opinion wolves? Because it’s what they do in this administration. These guys are never upfront about anything, and they have been lying to us from day-1 — remember the White House-Air Force One vandalism charges alleged against the outgoing Clinton-Gore administration. And they most recently lied about the cost of Medicare reform. Whenever these guys get busted on it, they schlep out some boogeyman (see gay marriage) to shift attention away from their own accountability. It’s every man for himself in the ideal Republican world, and queers and Heebs are expendable.
i don’t think his career is out the window. i dont know much about the subject but i don’t think many people really do care. It’s not really a popular sell at all in europe and america. WWII/Holocost are distant memories of people dying old folks homes that people don’t visit in the US/Europe.
