Troop 2077 Jewish Girl Scouts is selling more than cookies — they have become purveyors of peace with a group of Palestinian girls from a Palestinian girls school on the Mount of Olives in East Jerusalem. Letters peppered with “I Love Yous”, pictures, candy, and of course, Girl Scout cookies, are being packaged and posted this Friday by the Jewish troop to a group of girls, ages 11 to 13, in East Jerusalem.
That’s cute. You think these girls will grow up wanting to spill the blood of their Girl Scout pen pals or can such interactions give them developmental fodder with which to reject the propaganda they’re fed about Americans and Jews?

Once you give someone a real human dimension, it’s a lot harder to hate them. This sort of undertaking sounds really cool – I have no idea how or why anyone could find fault in friggin girl scout cookies. I have to say I am surprised and impressed that the administrators of the girls school are allowing this exchange to take place, but what the hey, I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. I hope it works out….

Cookies? Listen, I think the gesture is sweet and the mindset is right to teach young Israelis that we need to show love to our neighbours, but do you honestly think cookies and cards are going to do anything? Granted, this is not meant to solve the entire middle east conflict. I personally wouldn’t be surprise if the PA and friends looked at the cookies and told the kids that they are evil gifts from the infidels and we should destroy them (the cookies).

Your position in this case (that it was more likely America who killed berg), isnt that of the avg liberal in the U.S., but that of arab street, and European radicals, who admit to hating america. what does “loving your country” mean to you? if it means supporting whatever you government decides, then that may be the case. but if it means loving the principles your country stands for, then there’s no contradiction. for example, you might get angry and fight with a friend you think is making a serious life mistake, but if it was some stranger, you’d likely not even bother. loving america and its ideals and expecting the worst from my government, who i have come to know from my own experience living here for 25 years, are not asynchronous. again, i am inclined to be suspicious of our government because our government has given me more than ample reason to do so. it means i love america so much, i can’t bear to see her like this.

Today the Boston Globe published an explanation about the “rape” photo flap the newspaper was caught in when it published images purported by a Boston councilman to be of U.S. troops gang-raping Iraqi women. The accompanying story failed to confirm or deny the legitimacy of the images.
The Globe column by ombudsman Chris Chinlund claims the newspaper giant has still failed to discover the source of the photos and cannot confirm or deny their legitimacy to readers. As previously reported by WND, the photos are fake and were produced by a group called Extreme Traffic. The website “Sex in War” was built around the Extreme Traffic “rape” content. Select photos also were carried by another site, Iraqbabes.com, and the Hard Rape site, but all images were derived from “Sex in War.”
Ombudsman Chinlund’s explanation focused almost exclusively on the problem of the graphic nature of the content, and she still apparently refuses to admit the photos came from a porn site. In this way, the statement seemed to function partly as a distraction from the core issue: that the Globe was duped into running porn images despite their mighty investigative resources.

I always hear liberals say they love the principals this country stands for? WHat exactly does this mean? We know its not our actions they love, we know its not our people, and we know its not our constitution or the views of our founding fathers so what is it? Most liberals believe in seeking judicial activism rather, than having state residents vote on matters or allowing democratically elected officials deciding laws (see Affirmative action, gay marriage). Most liberals also believe in the “living constitution”, where an non-elected body of 9 changes our constitution as they see fit (i can give you lists of cases, but im sure you dont care). So in short, you dont like the people who live in this country (“ah, this great gullible nation), our actions, our leaders, our constitution, our democracy. You are quick to blame the U.S. for everything, and always assume we are the badguys.
So i have two questions (one from the my last comment that you ignored)
1)other than a few snappy sounding catch phrases from our founding fathers, what principals of our country do you love? The only thing you seem to enjoy about this country is the freedom to bash your own country every other second.
