Scalia: Jews Safer Under Christian Stewardship

Common Dreams reports,

Antonin Scalia, the man most likely to be our next Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, turned history on its head recently when he attended an Orthodox synagogue in New York and claimed that the Founders intended for their Christianity to play a part in government. Scalia then went so far as to suggest that the reason Hitler was able to initiate the Holocaust was because of German separation of church and state.

The Associated Press reported on November 23, 2004, “In the synagogue that is home to America’s oldest Jewish congregation, he [Scalia] noted that in Europe, religion-neutral leaders almost never publicly use the word ‘God.'”

“Did it turn out that,” Scalia asked rhetorically, “by reason of the separation of church and state, the Jews were safer in Europe than they were in the United States of America?” He then answered himself, saying, “I don’t think so.”

P’shaw! As if! Who annually rounded us up into synagogues and set them shits on fire? Who led the Crusades and the Inquisition? Who expelled us from just about every nation on the face of God’s green earth? Could it have been the Christian establishment? Shit, who invented antisemitism? Could it have been Martin Luther, the father of Protestantism? If I’m correct, wasn’t our last golden age in Islamic Spain?

Then who came and fucked it all up? And who’s fucking it up right now? Ahem.

‘Muslims do not hate our freedom, but rather they hate our policies. The overwhelming majority voice their objections to what they see as one-sided support in favor of Israel and against Palestinian rights, and the long-standing, even increasing, support for what Muslims collectively see as tyrannies, most notably Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Pakistan and the Gulf states. Thus, when American public diplomacy talks about bringing democracy to Islamic societies, this is seen as no more than self-serving hypocrisy.’

Uh, Leftist rhetoric? No. That would be The Pentagon. Christ almighty!
