Hollywood darling Natalie Portman recieved a nomination for Best Supporting Actress becoming the first Israeli born actress to be nominated for an Academy Award. Other Jewish nominees include Michael Leigh for his direction of Vera Drake and screenwriter Charlie Kaufman for that Jim Carrey flick which everyone tells me is worth seeing.

Personally, I think Portman deserved a nomination for her role as Marty in the underrated Beautiful Girls.
