Mayor Kapo

The NY Daily News‘ Michael Goodwin writes,

Mark the day: It was last Thursday when Michael Bloomberg became just another politician. From that day on, he can no longer boast he’s not beholden to any special interest. If he tries, say, “Sorry, Mayor, but I have two words for you: Lenora Fulani.” End of argument.
By refusing to sever his ties with Fulani, a classic anti-Semite wrapped in the guise of an activist, Bloomberg has put his reelection bid ahead of all else. You can’t get any more political than that.

According to the AJC,

Fulani, a longtime leader of a political cult, defended her claim that Jews “had to sell their souls to acquire Israel and are required to do the dirtiest work of capitalism – to function as mass murderers of people of color – in order to keep it.” Not only did she assert that that comment was not anti-Semitic, she said that it raised “issues that I think need to be explored.”

  1. I’m impressed Fulani has made it this far, to the point where no establishment New York politician has the guts to criticize her. Her political roots are in the crypto-fascist New Alliance Party, she’s a disciple of Jewish shrink Fred Newman, who himself was an acolyte of Lyndon Larouche: http://www.publiceye.org/newma
As for Prof. Griff, who is cited in the AJC press release, i remember when he said that “the Jews have a vibration machine to give blacks bad vibes,” information he claims he got from “an indian medicine man.”

  2. I don’t get what you’re complaining about, Mobi. Just above, your posts and comments talk about ethnic cleansing, evils perpetrated by Israel and Jews and violations of biblical and halachic ideas about not returning to Israel before a messiah arrives.
On other days you’ve discussed (as if it’s actual history) Jewish lynchings of Christians (haven’t you heard of blood libel?!), Israeli apartheid and Israeli racism.
You have recruited posters to this site who talk about Jews abroad who support Israel in very negative terms and about Israel in negative terms that are couched in more sophisticated language than Fulani’s but the sentiments are no different.
Then you call Bloomberg Kapo because he doesn’t fully disassociate himself from her comments (by the way, he did disassociate himself but refused to hold her political party responsible and disassociate himself from them)?
I’m not sure where the difference lies? She’s talking about Jews losing their souls and presents Israel as part of the equation…and so do you.
(I know, I know, I’m not The Middle, I’m some sort of Right wing fascist wingnut because I don’t approve of a hagaddah that dares to change a centuries-old seder plate to include a new item that shows victimization of Palestinians by Israelis simply because it suits your politics. See if you can address this comment seriously and after giving it some thought: how are you, ultimately, so different from Fulani in your public posture?).

  3. Mobius, the Daily News article is outdated. Bloomberg has clearly distanced hinself from Fulani in recent comments. It did take him a bit too long, and no word whether he’ll recieve OR accept the endorsement from the Independence Party next time around, though. He definitely needed those votes the last time around.

  4. Fulani’s remarks are antisemitic, and she has a history of distrurbing comments and behavior.
Fulani controls the Independence Party the same way Ray Harding controled the Liberal Party: she owns its.
Bloomberg can condemn her remarks all he likes, but he will still take the line because he needs the votes. This is pure politics, as is the bullshit line that she is just one member of the party, like David Duke is just one member of the Republican Party. Bloomberg and others should be embarassed repeating what they know to be an outright lie.
Many democrats are just as guilty as bloomberg on this one, including schumer. The only profile in courage when it comes to the Independence Party is Hillary Clinton, who swore off the party because of its Fulani ties and hasn’t budged from that position. Of course, this is probably because she was worried about losing Jewish votes in the wake of her Suha kiss, but still, its an admirable position.

  5. T_M that’s very perceptive.
Moby really is not much different than the average anti-semite in what he says if you simply do a idea by idea comparison.
