I don’t know about all of you folks out there, but I’ve always wished there were an easier way to look up Hebrew translations than carry a huge dictionary around with me. After 7 years of taking Hebrew, mine is seriously falling apart. Though there may be better subscription dictionaries, I like free, so when I’m off campus I use Morfix. It lets me translate from Hebrew to English and English to Hebrew wherever I can get internet access.

FYI, every once in a while Morfix bans certain IP ranges because of “abuse.” I think this is mostly Israeli IP addresses. It can be a real pain if you’re affected, and can’t use the service because of someone else’s actions. There’s a way around it though, if you’re technically savvy: just search the web for free proxy servers. Once you find a list, try a couple – tell your browser to access the web through the proxy server. One of them is bound to work. If you don’t know how to use a proxy server, I can’t help you. You could try searching for a howto, but I didn’t see any simple ones.
This is definitely a great, easy-to-use dictionary. I’ve been using it for a while, and I highly recommend it, esp. for English-to-Hebrew purposes.
