About the rabbi who condemned her:
A. I’ve never understood why people who set themselves up as moral arbiters – both political and theological – either don’t seem to foresee that their remarks will only furnish the material they deem offensive with free publicity, or don’t seem to care.
B. Madonna isn’t subject to Jewish law.
C. Since when is it against Halakha to use Luria’s name for profit? Does this apply only to Luria, or to all rabbis?
D. I really wish that Haredi rabbis would stop predicting divine retribution, and/or ascribing it retroactively to natural disasters and other tragedies.
