(And, if you don’t know, “what it was” was a hip-hop album made the single most white-sounding MC ever, a geeky Jewish boy from New Jersey with a nasal voice and the penchant for 4- and 5-syllable rhymes. And for busting up the status quo and name-dropping left-wing protests and political movements.
