Naye Nestn, naye fegl / Veln naye lider zingen

New nests, new birds
Will sing new songs.
– Y.L. Peretz
The International Association of Yiddish Clubs is having their annual conference this year in Teaneck, New Jersey from July 6-9, 2006. It promises to be their largest gathering yet, bringing together both devoted Yiddishists and those discovering a expansive legacy of Eastern European Jewry. With presenters, speakers and performers from The Workmen’s Circle/Arbeters Ring, Di Yiddish Kultur Farband, Yiddishe Lige, YIVO, Yugntruf and The Vilnius Yiddish Institute among others, this entirely volunteer-run conference is a testament to the integral contribution of Yiddish culture to Jewish civilization and the need for more young people to become involved in its preservation. There will be music, lectures, food and drink and the ability to network with some interesting yidn from across the world. If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer, nab my email address from the comments and send me your contact info and a little bit about yourself. Organizers are looking for college-aged volunteers to help the conference run smoothly. Breakfast, lunch and daytime activities are included. No experience with Yiddish is needed.
Tvishn yidn iz men keynmol nit farloyrn.
Among Jews one is never lost.
