Y-Love Birthday Performance In Brooklyn To Benefit A Worthy Cause

The combination of size and significance of this event, combined with the cause it goes to support, behooves me to let my Jewschool family in on this news.
My birthday is this coming Friday. So that means, this Saturday night

DJ Handler said in the publicity email:

We are all pretty excited about Y-Love’s B-day celebration. Y-Love won Best Hip Hop Artist at the 2006 JMA’s over Matisyahu. He is nominated for the “Artist Most Likely to Stick Around” at the Jvibe awards. There has been over 40 articles written about him just this year and his album has not even dropped. John Lennon and Y-Love may be more similar than you originally may have thought 😉 Come see what all the fuss is about.

He said it, I didn’t.
A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit The Clicks of Hope Foundation, a charity I founded this year to assist victims of domestic and disability abuse with getting out of abusive environments.
The party’s going down at North Six at 66 North Sixth Street (Bedford Avenue L Stop) in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, this Saturday night. Sending an RSVP to [email protected] guarantees entry at the reduced $8 rate — otherwise it’s $10 at the door. Also performing are Baba Israel — the “emcee, Beatboxer, and hip hop [digeradoo] player…known for his freestyle ability, powerful lyrics, and booming Beatbox beats.” — as well as Benny Bwoy, the “original Jew-maican”, the pioneer of Jewish dancehall reggae who called out Matisyahu at the Apollo in 2006. Special surprise guests from the Jewish (and pro-Jewish) hiphop world are also scheduled to attend. This will not be an event to be missed.
I hope to see you all there. Come show your love, and take part in a huge mitzvah by doing so.
