Another reason to hit the Poconos this Labor Day

Watch out, urbanites. Pat Robertson has spoken to God, and we’re in trouble. God apparently told him that a terrorist attack will cause a “mass killing” late in ’07, just as God told him that He smote Ariel Sharon as retribution for the ceding of land to the Palestinians.

“I’m not necessarily saying it’s going to be nuclear,” he said during his news-and-talk television show “The 700 Club” on the Christian Broadcasting Network.
“The Lord didn’t say nuclear. But I do believe it will be something like that.”
Robertson said God told him about the impending tragedy during a recent prayer retreat.
God also said, he claims, that major cities and possibly millions of people will be affected by the attack, which should take place sometime after September.

That’s right, Pat. The Lord didn’t say nuclear. He probably said nucular.
Full story.

  1. When I see predictions as vague as this one, I normally expect them to be preceded by words like “Aries” or “Capricorn”.

  2. Ah, give poor Pat a break. Don’t you all remember from the LAX? According to verifiable sources, there’s a male identity crisis – “Manliness is next to godliness” – among those fundamentalists. Good old Pat is feeling a little pressure like little school-boy Dubya these days….
    Come on, let’s give the boys a break….Nuclear, shmuclear….

  3. Actually I just got off the phone with Pat and he said that he was wrong.
Not sure what is funny in that statment…me on the phone with Pat or him saying he was wrong.
Oh it would be funnier if it wasn’t so sad.

  4. i agree that its probably demonic, please G-d. i mean, america’s sheriff badge in the world might not be as shiny, but i hope this is a bit too much. “Doom” seems likely to many many people (unfortunately).
and what he said about Sharon might seem a bit far, but they do say that everything we see and hear is supposed to tell us how to serve G-d, therefore it has to mean something to us even if not much.
but if we are in the “birth pangs of Moshiach”stage then its possible something could happen unless something or other happens for the good, G-d willing.
just my two or so cents

  5. I think that if a major, worldwide disaster was on the way, god would probably tell someone like Katie Couric. The message would get better press, and she’d just chalk it up to “an anonymous source” rather than claim to be on speaking terms with an invisible deity.

    Someone watches Katie Couric?
