Today: Once again, idolatry is still bad.
46. “Don’t mention the names of other gods.” (Exodus 23:13) = don’t swear by idolatrous gods
47. “Don’t turn to ghosts.” (Leviticus 19:31)
48. “Don’t inquire of familiar spirits.” (Leviticus 19:31)
49. “Don’t allow your offspring to be offered to Molech.” (Leviticus 18:21)
50. “Don’t erect a stone pillar.” (Deuteronomy 16:22)
51. “Don’t place figured stones in your land to bow down to them.” (Leviticus 26:1)
52. “Don’t plant an asherah.” (Deuteronomy 16:21) = idolatrous tree
53. “You must destroy all the sites at which the nations you are to dispossess worshipped their gods.” (Deuteronomy 12:2)
54. “Don’t bring an abomination into your house.” (Deuteronomy 7:26) = don’t derive any benefit from things used for idolatry
55. “Don’t covet the silver and gold on [idols] and keep it for yourselves.” (Deuteronomy 7:25)
56. “Don’t make a covenant with them…” (Deuteronomy 7:2) = with idolators
57. “…and don’t show favor to them.” (Deuteronomy 7:2)
58. “They shall not dwell in your land, lest they cause you to sin against me.” (Exodus 23:33) = idolators
59. “You shall not follow the practices of the nation that I am driving out before you.” (Leviticus 20:23)
60. “Don’t practice divination.” (Leviticus 19:26)
I admit that I am no expert, but when I read “no divination”, I think of the guy with the forked stick trying to find water. Is that included?
What is “an idolatrous tree” — don’t plant a tree for the purpose of worshipping it?

A suggestion – if you’ll be doing these posts for 7 weeks, you might want to at least put a link in each post to the original post where you explain what you’re doing. If a reader happened to miss that very first day, they might have a hard time figuring out what’s going on.
