Video sampling of Hebron in the last couple of days

click below for three videos of incidents in Hebron of recent: settlers firing upon Palestinians, soldiers and police evacuating residents of the “Peace House” and one shot from the roof of the house.

From what I can tell, this appears to be two Jewish youth approaching a Palestinian property, they are confronted, and meanwhile a larger group of settlers are off-screen, one of which is firing his weapon. He is later seen on-screen firing up the hill. It appears two Palestinian men were shot and lightly wounded, and one Jewish youth was beaten. The image of an observant Jew firing a weapon at people is one that I know exists, but have never seen, until now. It’s hard to see. I’m not sure what this type of activity is supposed to achieve.

Having been evacuated forcibly by riot police, I can assure those who have not that it is a terrifying and potentially traumatic experience. The sign visible at the end of this video says “gazlanim” which means ‘thieves’. The pain of seeing Jews dragged and shoved by armed men in uniforms is very real, almost ironic. As is the notion that they are calling their government thieves, when, well, that’s why they’re being evicted…

This person apparently couldn’t take the tear gas.
There are many more videos out there from the last week and they are showing a sad and violent story. I’m not sure what those who are participating in these violent acts are hoping to achieve. God willing this will soon come to an end.

No that’s not why they were evicted. They were evicted because Barak found it politically expedient to do so. There was no justification for it.
