I saw the best garden gnomes of my generation…

I followed links from The Beat to Fantagraphics back to PLOG (The Presspop Blog) just so I can share with you this image of the vinyl sample of the forthcoming Presspop statuette of Jewish beatnik poet Allen Ginsberg.

Allen Ginsberg Statuettes

I desperately want one for my new office.
(I was a totally good kid in high school, but the one time I ever skipped school was to attend one of Ginsberg’s final poetry readings.)

  1. the one time I ever skipped school was to attend one of Ginsberg’s final poetry readings
So worth it. I wish I had gone to one of his readings.

  2. Doesn’t look like Ginsberg to me.
Looks like my old drinkin’ buddy, Karl Marx! Do they come in red?

  3. We need these!! We just started a non-profit here in Chicago to bring food-bearing gardens local shuls (and other agricultural projects) and these little Ginsbergs would be too cool to add. Do you think they would consider a gnome donation to a non-profit?

  4. To clarify – they aren’t actually garden gnomes. I believe they’re PVC statuettes – sort of like a static bobblehead. But it can’t hurt to ask the manufacturer.
