Fire damages Boston's Moishe Kavod House
Last night, a mutli-alarm fire severely damaged the Moishe Kavod House in Boston. All residents escaped safely and no injuries were reported. The fire started Wednesday night at 11 pm and took firefighters an hour to put out, according to local news. Kavod community members say the house will be unlivable for several months.

On Facebook, Moishe House said, “All of the housemates are okay and assessing damage and needs right now. We will be sure to keep our community updated on any ways in which you can help and more details as we get them!”
Just a couple months ago, the house celebrated it’s well-earned 10th anniversary as Boston’s grassroots hub for 20s and 30s Jews devoted to social activism. For ten years, the rotating team of four live-in volunteer leaders represented a wider community of hundreds of people and held often dozens of activities a month.
Many of us at Jewschool have frequented their warm home over the past ten years, we are glad everyone is safe and unhurt, and eagerly await ways to support. You can follow updates on their Facebook page, where organizers say they will share ways to help the community rebuild and continue.
Sorry to have taken the videos down. Crazy amount of usage from media w/o permission. Sent copies to MKH, will provide to you all too if you would like. Though now best to focus on what comes next — https://twitter.com/AndrewYellis/status/758677377954279424/video/1
