Can they be serious? Grace Adler is a positive portrayal of Jewish women? I don’t know if they’ve bothered to watch that show, but the character of Grace Adler is shallow, materialistic, neurotic, and fixated on shopping and sex. Isn’t that the very stereotype that these women are concerned with? Geez, Grace Adler is Woody Allen with boobs (though the boobs part is arguable). And the only way her character expresses her Jewishness is by uttering a few Yiddish words and marrying a Jewish doctor. I sure hope my daughter grows up to have more substance, Jewish or otherwise.
