There is a God!
Sometimes I doubt the existence of G-d.
How else can one explain Paris Hilton’s “success,” other than to declare G-d nonexistent? What just and merciful creator would allow such a lowly creature to thrive in His world?
Uch. I’ve taken to reading the eleventh blessing of the Amidah, îìê à åäá öã÷ä åîùôè, sarcastically, as a challenge to G-d.
What significant purpose could she possibly serve in bringing the world closer to redemption? That her name should cross more lips than words of Torah ever shall? Where is justice?
But then, yesterday’s Daily Telegraph reported:
Party princess Paris Hilton is $60 million out of pocket after her billionaire grandfather – appalled by her jail term for drink-driving offences – axed her inheritance.
[…] Hilton senior, the only member of the family left with a sizeable stake in the huge hotel chain, has let it be known that he intends to donate to charity the $2.4bn he will gain from this month’s sale of the company to private equity firm Blackstone.
It would seem that even creatures as contemptible and vile as Paris Hilton serve their purpose in this world. The former heiress just delivered a small fortune into the hands of the needy by being egregiously despicable.
It’s been said that the Lord works in mysterious ways… Perhaps now I can doubt a little less.
Oh great, does this mean she’s going to be obliged to support herself by making more “music” or flashing her pudenda for us? Please grandpa, give her enough damn cash so she won’t; give the rest to charity.
I agree; I’d be in favor of appealing to him to give her enough to live on comfortably, on the condition that she just goes away.
As contemptible as she is, I blame the parents. And her mother had a reality show last year in which she was teaching other people how to behave.

Rumors that Paris Hilton may be out of pocket when her grandpa passes have been dismissed, according to her rep.
Sydney’s Daily Telegraph newspaper reported that Barron Hilton, the last remaining Hilton with a large share in the hotel chain, was so humiliated by Paris’ wild ways and drunk-driving charge that he cut her inheritance by $60 million. However, Barron believes he has been misrepresented.
“Barron Hilton (Paris’ grandfather) was contacted and said the characterization of his feelings toward Paris or his will are inaccurate,” a spokesman for the hotel heiress told FOXNews.com.
While no comment was made regarding whether his will has been changed, Hilton’s spokesman said Paris’ relationship with her grandfather remains strong.

I dunno. I think that I’d rather have that money in private Paris hands where it would be reinserted and spent in various economies around the world or various items whose production provies jobs for many people. Giving it all the ‘private equity’ to ‘invest’ is just making the rich richer.
On the other hand, living in Israel, I don’t really know who this girl is, and it seems that many people also don’t care.
So the misfortune of someone you dislike proves to you that G-d exists?
For someone who has committed only minor crimes and really hasn’t done anything significant (good or bad) in her life, Paris sure gets a disproportionate amount of negative attention. Further, the negative attention and gossip she consistently receives seems to fall under lashon hara – including this blog post.

And why does this occur? The very thing you cite as an injustice is due to your very actions. When you post yet another gossip column about a celebrity you are directly responsible for making them a household name. This is a Paris Hilton post, not a Torah post. What does Paris have to do with Torah? Not much.
Also, try to remember that drug addiction and alcoholism are diseases. You’re essentially spewing hatred and vitriol for a diseased person. That isn’t merciful. And I don’t think a just and merciful God would condone it.
