I’m kind of surprised the game uses the Velvets. If there’s one major band that honestly showed how sordid the counter-cultural life could be, VU was it. If you wanted to scare a Bar-Mitzvah boy straight, the box set (contains all four albums – highly recommended) would be a great gift.
yeah, i read a pretty interesting article about how west-coast hippies used to come to visit warhol’s “factory” and were just totally freaked out by the velvets. it only made me love them more.
