By the dawn’s early light
So like many virgin voters, I went to the polls early today. We arrived at the elementary school a little after 6 AM — coffee and donuts in hand and we were about #35 in line. I was actually pleasantly surprised that the line wasn’t already longer. 7 AM rolled around quickly and we were ushered inside. Went to the A-F line and noticed the pages and pages of “Cohen”s listed on the rolls in my heavily Jewish district. Pretty straightforward from there. We have electronic voting here in Georgia and it seemed pretty simple to use the system although I’m not sure how senile senior citizens will fare with the small screens.
All in all, I feel proud to have joined the ranks
of the voting public and exercised my civic duty. Now, if only I could go back to sleep…
