I saw the best garden gnomes of my generation…
I followed links from The Beat to Fantagraphics back to PLOG (The Presspop Blog) just so I can share with you this image of the vinyl sample of the forthcoming Presspop statuette of Jewish beatnik poet Allen Ginsberg.
I desperately want one for my new office.
(I was a totally good kid in high school, but the one time I ever skipped school was to attend one of Ginsberg’s final poetry readings.)
I’d much rather have an Allen Ginsburg bobblehead…

So worth it. I wish I had gone to one of his readings.
There’s also this one…http://www.justsaygnome.net/gnome-chomsky-i—additional-views.html
Doesn’t look like Ginsberg to me.
Looks like my old drinkin’ buddy, Karl Marx! Do they come in red?
We need these!! We just started a non-profit here in Chicago to bring food-bearing gardens local shuls (and other agricultural projects) and these little Ginsbergs would be too cool to add. Do you think they would consider a gnome donation to a non-profit?
To clarify – they aren’t actually garden gnomes. I believe they’re PVC statuettes – sort of like a static bobblehead. But it can’t hurt to ask the manufacturer.
