Israeli Anarchists Charge IDF With Murderous Actions

IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Moshe Yaalon will today receive the results of an internal army investigation into the incident on Dec. 26, when soldiers shot and seriously injured Israeli Gil Na’amati while he and other protesters were demonstrating against the construction of the security fence. The Anarchists Against the Wall group, of which Na’amati is a member, today released its own account of the event, and said the soldiers were in no way endangered when they opened fire.
Being that one soldier has already copped to firing on a demonstator without provocation in a previous incident, this can only spell very bad things for the IDF and Israel’s PR, world-wide.
In a slightly-related story, five Israeli refuseniks will begin their one-year sentences to a military prison in Atlit. Haggai Matar, Matan Kaminer, Shimri Zameret, Adam Maor and Noam Bahat were sentenced by the Jaffa Military Court on Sunday. Respect and blessings. May their time go easy.
