Israeli botanists are forcing the pre-season blooming of an endangered species of White Lillies called the “Holy Virgin” a favorite of the Vatican and a popular Easter flower. The aromatic Lilium candidum which has previously been a symbol of Israel and appeared on ancient Israeli coinage is being bred for the upcoming Easter holiday season.
