JewHouse
The June 2009 issue of Sh’ma is out in an easy to navigate digital edition. This month’s theme is the Jewish house in all in its myths and problems, contradictions and comforts. From the porch (Lisa Grant) to the garage (Benny Ferdman’s garage, to be exact), through writing and photography and drawing. It is a courageous attempt to peek into the closet (Lawrence Bush’s essay “The Closet”) and in the medicine cabinets (“The Medicine Cabinet” by Anonymous, about depression in the Jewish commmunity) and behind the locked doors. (I contributed the essay “Dining/Room”.)
