Jewish culture on Kickstarter, today
A couple of interesting Kickstarter projects of Jewish interest.
Makings – Songs from Tillie Olsen’s Journals is a musical project created by the grandson of the left-wing Jewish author of, most famously, Tell Me a Riddle. (Background info from Jewish Currents, Jewish Womens Archive, and Wikipedia.) Downloads of the album start at $10.
Aliyah Le Berlin is a documentary of Jews — mostly Israelis — who have settled in Germany in recent years. But act fast: As of this writing, the project has only 9 hours to raise $5000.
Take-Away by YTheater Project is a play by a joint Palestinian-Israel theater group in Jerusalem that “unearths how we trash one another. In a dump on a sacred hill, garbage harvesters inspire hope.”
