  1. Hah!
After having been accused repeatedly of not being young myself (with no actual proof being provided, but who cares), I’m calling bogus on all this nonsense of there being a notable number of young Jewish San Franciscans activists as being implied by the above.
    Proof?
    Go to http://www.factfinder.census.gov
Then enter San Francisco, and check the percentage of young people
Then compare it with any major US city.
SF has a negligible percentage of its population being young (not even 10% between 5 and 18). (You can even check Boca Raton. Boca Raton! Its got a higher percentage of young people.)
If young San Franciscans barely exist how can the much smaller population of young Jewish San Franciscans exist? And from this you can get a notable number of young Jewish San Franciscan activists? Uh-uh.
So you take all those ‘young’ Jewish SF groups mentioned as sponsors-and card them.
Better get ‘young’ 39-year-old Peter Beinart to come. And tell him to bring a lot of walkers.
The US census. Your taxes at work-proving me right.

  2. here we go with the numbers again! you are a bizarre man. who taught you how to analyze statistics? and i’m pretty sure by most counts in the organized jewish world, “young”=under 40

  3. As a “young” San Franciscan, I just want to point out that nowhere in this event description is the word “young” used. Okay, perhaps you’re excited about the Young Adult Division of the Federation cosponsoring the event, but YAD (or YLD, your name will vary for this group) self-defines as up to 50.
