Jewschool Endorses the Women's March on Washington
As Jews and as Americans, we have looked on in dismay as immigrants, Muslims, LGBTQ people, Native people, Black and Brown people, women, and people with disabilities have been vilified, threatened, and/or mocked. Throughout the electoral cycle, a constant stream of disgusting rhetoric has emboldened and empowered the worst elements of our society, and we have looked on in horror as positions in the highest levels of government are filled with people who espouse or refuse to disavow the vilest of opinions, including anti-semitism. Jewschool cherishes the progressive values of pluralism, equality, social justice, egalitarianism, and peace. We must not stand idly by: thus, we have officially endorsed the march, and encourage our community-members and readers to attend.
The march’s official mission page states, “We stand together in solidarity with our partners and children for the protection of our rights, our safety, our health, and our families – recognizing that our vibrant and diverse communities are the strength of our country.”
We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
