Message from Mashad
Sometimes the clearest part of a message is the setting. For instance, take Mashad, an exquisite ancient city of Persia. This is where President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced that “the laboratory- scale nuclear fuel cycle has been completed.”
It is also the birthplace of the Hojjatieh Society, based in Mashad. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad likes them.  A lot. They believe that the Twelfth Imam’s reappearance and the world’s subsequent redemption can’t happen in a period of stability. In fact, there needs to be, “Global chaos, war and bloodshed.”Â
If that’s true, I bet I know how to make the Mahdi would come really quickly then. I bet President Ahmadinejad is thinking the same thing I am.
George Bush has this goal too.
a) nowhere does that article refer to the mehdi or his messianic return amidst global chaos. in fact, the only current news article stating that position is the uk’s daily mirror, a newspaper which features half-naked women on its cover every morning. their current headline is about george michael getting into a car accident. ie., it’s a tabloid, and can’t be trusted as a source of expertise on middle east affairs.
b) in an article in the same source you linked to, asharq alawsat, the idea that we’re heading towards a nuclear showdown with iran is seriously tempered.
