Score One for Yahweh
“Judaism, it basically dictates my life in all ways, like, from growing up, its morals and standards about hard work and all that stuff,” Shamah said. “That helped me a lot in class and when I started football, it made sure I didn’t quit, that I stuck to what I did.”
Myrtle Beach’s Sun News has a nice little human interest story this morning about an observant Jewish high school student who happens to be a kick-ass football player.
Um, I don’t get it. If dude is an observant Jew, how can he play high school football games that are held on Friday nights? And furthermore, when he gets to college, how will he be able to play in games held on Saturday afternoons? Only the NFL plays on Sundays.
observant doesn’t necessarily translate into orthodox
I see. This story reminds me of the Tamir Goodman story? Remember that kid? The “Jewish Jordan”?
