What's with all the Jewish theatre all at once?

While the existence of certain Jews, or the edgy situation in Israel, or something else, may have scared away the play “My Name is Rachel Corrie,” NYC is overflowing with Jewish-themed theatre:

1. A Jew Grows in Brooklyn, (Limited Engagement – 3/24-5/28), www.TheaterMania.com, The American Theatre of Actors, 314 West 54th Street, 212-352-3101 – Bring your Bar/Bat Mitzvah Photo for a chance to win a prize. “A true story” musical comedy.
2. What I like about Jew, Canal Room 285 W. Broadway (at Canal) box office 212.941.8100 and ticketmaster.comwww.WhatILikeAboutJew.Com – Shows at 7 and 9:30 – playing now.
3. JAP Cronicles, limited engagement – 42 performances only – April 17 through May 26th, JAP Chronicles ( Jewish American Powerhouses!) www.JAPChroniclesTheMusical.com
4. Awake and Sing Broadway revival of Clifford Odets’ 1935 drama about a Jewish family in the Bronx that has fallen on hard times during the Depression. Belasco Theatre – 111 West 44th Street – Tickets: 212-239-6200 or Telecharge

Has anyone seen any of these here or in another city? Are they any good? Also, has anyone read anything about this trend? Five years ago I don’t think there were this many shows with the word “Jew” in the title, let alone depicting stories about Jews.
If anyone has any ideas about this trend or has seen any articles, please do reply to this post.
