Where Does Jewish Leadership Stand On Racial Profiling?

Steven I. Weiss writes,

How’ve J-Orgs Responded to Racial Profiling of Arabs?
That’s something I’m trying to figure out, in light of the hubbub over Jillian Bandes.
I’ll be posting Jewish organizational responses here, as I find them.
For starters, after New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind recently advocated for racial profiling of Arabs on New York subways, one of the most significant protests came from the Neturei Karta; it turns out that the Workmen’s Circle protested, too. Did any other Jewish leaders or organizations?

If you’ve got any leads for ol’ Shleve, leave ’em on his blog here.

  1. oh yes lets establish our jewish leftist humanistic credentials by opposing racial profiling: we definitely need fear those 75 year old lutheran grandmothers as much as we do 20 – 45 year old arab males.

  2. First they came for the Jews
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the Communists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a trade unionist.
    Then they came for me
and there was no one left
    to speak out for me.

  3. ah, the power of a cliche: may i point out two differences between niemollers lament and the current situation: no one is suggesting the murder of muslims, just a special watch on them; and muslims in general seem to be either supportive or at least neutral when it comes to muslim murdering westerners; i dont recall any jews ever attempting to murder germans. now, do you want to rethink your analogy?

  4. 100k dead in Iraq for reasons which are entirely unclear, and avi green says “no one is suggesting the murder of muslims”
So I guess opposition to the Nuremberg laws was unjustified since they didn’t suggest the murder of Jews
uh ok whatever.. surely you understand the concept of the slippery slope don’t you?

uberkvetcher thoughtlessly spewed: “thanks for slaugtering the memory of so many for your political cause shame on you”
Frankly it’s the people who don’t understand what “never again” means who are slaughtering the memory of so many.
