Wiesenthal Gets Knighted, Center Justly Slighted
95 year-old Nazi hunter Simon Wiesenthal has been knighted by the Queen of England. The Scotsman reports, “The award–Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire–is in recognition of a lifetime of service to humanity through his work to bring the Nazi perpetrators of the Holocaust to justice.”
In mildly-related news, the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s Shimon Samuels got a thorough fisking by Cecilie Surasky of Jewish Voice for Peace, in today’s Counterpunch, for misrepresenting events and otherwise fabricating incidence of antisemitism at the recent World Social Forum in Mumbai, India.
