Hmmm. My Hebrew is practically nonexistent, so I could be wrong here, but isn’t your spelling of April (aleph, pay, raish, yud, lamed) Yiddish instead of Hebrew? Not that I’m complaining, mind…

Ah — that would explain it. Software transliteration would naturally use the Yiddish spelling (which uses vowels) rather than the Hebrew (which doesn’t). Thanks for the clarification.
