Antisemitism & Social Illness

The “crimes” of Israel, however heinous, and the sufferings of the Palestinians, however awful, cannot possibly explain the enlarged and violent emotions they arouse. I think of anti-Semitism as a form of mental deformation, which attaches itself to the Jews because they represent some archetypal Other.
