An estimated one million people attempted to squeeze into the Old City last week for a prayer vigil —
not against disengagement as opponents of the Gaza pullout portray it — but rather for peace and unity amongst the Jewish people. Individuals from across denominational and political lines attended the service, which was facilitated by a number of rabbinic leaders who are rarely found in agreement, let alone sharing the same space.
While media reports that between 100,000 and 250,000 attended, that number neglects the fact that “human traffic” attempting to reach the kotel was backed up all the way to Talpiyot.

One of the most incredible experiences of my entire life.
The kotel area was closed off due to capacity, but masses and masses of people were still stuck around the city trying to get in/near.
Hm, looks like that mechitza needs to be extended..
