Delia's offers keffiyehs as "Peace" scarves
Peace scarves?
Uh huh. And this guy with the machine gun is giving a “peace” salute, right?
Enough with this nonsense already.

They might be more appropriately called “justice scarves.”
But the guy with the AK-47 isn’t wearing a peace scarf. Looks more like a kicky peace headband. I dunno. This whole thing is silly. I just bought a really REALLY nice keffiyah at the shuk yesterday. I think maybe I am going to dye it blue and wear it as an ironic statement. Truth is those things are awesome. They keep the sun off your head in the summer and are hands down the best winter scarves ever. My friends in various armed forces in Iraq and Afghanistan wear them to protect against sunburn and excessive dust in the desert. But peace scarves? WTF?? They are just plain old scarves…
That’s more like an Arab-themed Karate Kid headband.
That scarf they are selling bears no resemblance to a Keffiyeh, in my opinion
look closer … same exact pattern as this dude’s
a comprehensive look:

The funny thing is, at a peace-themed event a few weeks ago, these things (in all colours) were actually being sold at one stall as ‘P.L.O’s’. Sadly, my photo didn’t come out.
I complained to the Delias about the name and received this reply:

And now the name of the scarf is “euro scarf” – but you can still search for it on the website as “peace scarf.”
I wrote to Delia’s:

Message:
You product “peace scarf” is an attempt to present a terrorist icon as fashion chic. The girls you’re marketing to have no idea that many girls their age have been murdered by terrorists wearing this so-called “peace scarf”. I implore you to remove this product from your store and to apologize to the many victims of terror and their families for your insensitivity.

They’ve changed the name to “Euro Scarf”:

just for the record… that’s not a machine gun.
