FERO Inc.: Passover and Divestment
This year I have been divesting money I inherited from my family and reinvesting it in the regenerative economy. It’s been a wonderful and troubling process–straining my relationship with my mother, pushing me to define my future relationship to money, and demanding I define and articulate my values. As Passover approached, I found the story resonating in a new, interesting way. I realized the “narrow place” I was working in was capitalism, and the way my family and many families interact with and wield their money and power. I wanted to draw an inspiring story–a little cheeky sure–but a motivational depiction of a lady Moses breaking through and creating a new economy. I hope it inspires folks to laugh, wonder about how their resources are deployed in the world now, and work towards divestment/reinvestment in their local communities.
