THey have their own beats, most of these songs are from the artists old albums just with amercian beats in the back instead.
Uh, that’s called a “Mashup.” When you take the vocal tracks from one song and mash it into the bassline from another (often more well-known or classic song). It’s all the rage among the cool kids, both MOT and not — at least it was in 2002. Israel might not be on the cutting edge, but it’s getting there. Fine, fault them for being late, but not for making mashups. Sheesh.

Honestly, I’ve been disappointed with Israeli hip-hop as far as beats are concerned. I saw Subliminal here in DC–apparently, his DJ is the nation’s turntable champion or something. If that’s true, well, I’m sad.

I just got back from Israel a couple weeks ago, after being there with birthright and staying longer on my own for almost a month. With all that’s going on in Israel, its good to know they still have fun with music. And I love it. Why not? I like rap! I love Israel!
PS: Trust me, if you haven’t been there yet, you have to go! It’s nothing like on TV! Don’t be scared. It’s amazing on every level, it has everything and more! I can’t wait to go back!!! I went with Mayanot birthright, it was the best program. MayanotIsrael.com!!!
