The New York Times reports that Kinky Friedman, the original Texas Jewboy, will kick off the gubernatorial campaign season at this weekend’s Houston Art Car Parade. He’s concentrating on collecting enough signatures to get on the ballot against incumbent Gov. Rick Perry, asking voters to take the Lone Star Pledge – not voting in either primary, but saving themselves for the indie Kinky campaign.
Why an art car parade? According to his campaign, “He just likes the darn cars.”
