Jewish Ex-Londoners Purchase Latics Football Club

Three British-Jewish New Yorkers, who made their fortunes in the cellular phone industry, have chipped in and bought themselves an English football team. Simon Corney, Simon Blitz and Daniel Gazal are the new owners of Oldham Athletic, otherwise known as the Latics, a club which found its roots in Manchester in 1899. The news comes as a sigh of relief to the team, as the three ex-Londoners shelled out £4.6m to purchase the team’s Boundary Park stadium, despite their outstanding debt and lagging ticket sales. Hopefully Corney, Blitz & Gazal will use their apparently keen business sense to pull the club out of the red, and put ’em back on the green.
