Jewish Law and Refusal
When I came across this op-ed, I thought it was going to be about the law as pertaining to those who refuse to serve in the territories. But no—it’s about the law as pertaining to those who refuse to evacuate settlements. Sigh.
That’s what you get with an army full of Jews. Some Jews believe more in the laws of G-d than the laws of a secular government.
Believing in G-d means interpreting the halacha as best you know how, and when in doubt, you ask your Rabbi.
Jewish ethics is Torah. Ask anyone refusing to serve on the outside of the Green Line (or at all, Mr. Oofnik)–you gotta do what you gotta do.
Why was this article dissappointing to you?
Do you value one kind of refuser’s opinion over another?
Is it better to round up the Jews for peace or Arabs?
round up the Jews for peace or Arabs
Cute.
