Inelegant Indonesian Invitation
I’ve written about the assassination of Indonesian human rights activist Munir Said Thalib. The former head of Indonesia’s intelligence agency, Abdullah Hendropriyono, has refused to testify before an official panel investigating the matter because he considered the way he was summoned to testify to be ‘inelegant’ (although his lawyer says he will cooperate if he is approached in the right way!).

I agree with Aaron. This J for J thing is outrageous. Still, the law of “Mitzva HaBa B’Aveira Eino Mitzva” (A Mitzvah derived from a sin nullifies the effect of the Mitzva) still applies. While we SHOULD chastise Mr. Cohen for his outrageous deed, we’re effectively abusing the mouths and speech that Gd gave us for the purpose of Tikun Olam. I say to continue chastising him, but choose your words carefully, and then MAYBE Hashem will listen and indirectly take action.
Although I’m disgusted with this crap and this ‘converting’, I feel that It’s wrong for you to do this. This man had a hard experience when facing Judaism and it seems that this Rabbi is somewhat responsible for this tragedy. No one can blame Shek until you faced his situation. Let’s hope that no other Jew will fall into the traps that Shek struggled with and that Shek will see the lies in what he’s doing and he’ll turn back.
