Oh, Those Wacky Iranians
In a move intended to improve the country’s relations with Egypt, the Iranian government has renamed Khaled Islambouli Street—named for the assassin of Egyptian president Anwar Sadat, who was targetted for formally making peace with Israel in 1978—to Intifada Street, in honor of the Palestinian uprising against “the Zionist aggressor.” Lovely! Why not just call it Bloodshed Street? It’ll save you from having to change the name again in the future.
